Japonica Camellias | Winter & Spring Blooming Camellias
These varieties of Camellias prefer partial shade, growing best under large trees. This flowering shrub loves the cool shade in the mornings and late afternoon! They can reach heights of 7 to 12 feet and a spread of 5 to 10 feet. Imagine a shrub of that size with its gorgeous flowers in your yard!
We offer several different cultivars of the Japonica Camellias. Choose from white, pink or red. Each color has its own ability to take charge in any landscape!
The blooms of the Camellias have short stems and appear mostly at the ends of the branches. The variegated flowers are 2 to 5 inches wide making it an eye-catcher. Single blooms are more common, but Camellias can also produce double blooms.
Japonicas thrive in growing zones 6-10, depending on the variety you choose. In addition to the stunning flowers, these camellias also have broad, glossy green foliage giving them even more appeal.
If you don't have a good spot for a Camellia, don't worry! They also work really well in a decorative pot in entryways or on patios. Either way, you will feel like a professional gardener with the easy to grow Japonica Camellias!
