Hardy Banana Planting Directions
Transport To the Tropics With Cold Hardy Banana Tree

Suddenly this has become one of our best selling items.

Cutting edge Landscape Architects have fallen in love with the Basjoo Banana and the whole tropical feel. People see it and want their own.

The Basjoo is the world's most hardy and cold tolerant banana. This hardy banana tree grows from Miami into parts of Canada. It tolerates drought and neglect. Even deer leave it alone. You just plant it and forget it.

Once established it can grow an amazing 2 feet per week. Reaching a height of 6-9 feet in pots or 16 feet in the ground.

This is one of those plants that's just fun to watch! It puts out enormous bright green leaves that measure 2-6 feet long. In summer, small, golden yellow blooms are grown in long clusters.

The Basjoo is not only the hardiest banana, but the most attractive as well. Use it to liven up a sitting area, pool side or yard perimeter.

If you live in the far north, you will need to place several inches of mulch around it, particularly if you get down to -20F. In extreme conditions some growth may freeze back. Not a problem, just cut back the affected area and watch it quickly grow back in spring.

These bold and striking garden plants love a little fertilizer and good drainage. Order yours now.

5-6 ft. size is measured from the ground to the top of the plant.

I live Toronto ON Canada. I have a Hardy Banana Tree that has been outside for 3 years. It has 9 to 15 stems and is 10 ft tall. Very easy to grow.

My Basjoo Hardy Banana tree arrived today. After reading the reviews, I'm excited about the purchase.

our Hardy banana tree arrived in very good shape and began to grow, I think the day we put it in dirt .it got to 3 feet and the wife accidently broke it off we thought it was done but it grew another 3 feet and put off two suckers so we now have three.

Lois Blackwood
I was really impressed with the packaging of my hardy banana tree. I've bought from other nurseries and when I received the items they were not in good shape. I just got my basjoo banana in the ground and it is thriving. I expect great things from my banana plant.

I bought 3 of the Hardy Banana trees this year. they are all doing well. I did spend the additional money to buy one of the $39 trees vs 2 of the $15 ones. The older tree has grown twice as fast as the smaller trees, but that aside I am very happy with all of them. My pool area looks great and I've had quite a few people peering over the fence to look at them!

I have two Basjoo Banana trees, they are doing great. each one is seven feet with a span of four feet.

I purchased the Basjoo Banana tree in the Spring and it is now to the top of my fence! I'm hoping it survives the winter as advertised. If it does, I know next summer it will be awesome!!

Debbie in Maryland
I bought one banana tree last summer. now we have so many I am giving them to friends...Great Plant. Just give them plenty of room.

I purchased two of the Basjoo Banana trees in July of this year. Both arrived in great shape, but I never thought those little things would grow like they have. Fertilized them about every week, lightly, watered nearly every day and you can almost hear them growing. One is about 9 foot, the other, while healthy, is a bit slower at 6 ft. Both have 4 to 6 new shoorts starting from 1 to 4 ft high. Next spring, I'll probably have to replant some, or cut some back. Now that's growing ! Beautiful accent to the normal W. Virginia landscape. Reminds me of my former residence in SW Florida.

I purchased a Basjoo Banana tree in the Spring just to see how it would do where I live - It has done extremely well this summer, drought resistant and looks great. I started mine in a large ceramic pot, to see how I liked it....the real test will be how well it does through the winter and whether it comes back as strong next Spring.....I have faith that it will.....I was amazed that it is zone 5! A great tropical addition....

Colleen in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I purchased 3 Hardy Banana Trees and now I have 11! One has done excellent and is at least 6 feet tall, the others were planted in a different location and are half that size. We love them so much that we dug them up and repotted for indoors.
