An Evergreen that Produces Flowers AND Fruit!
Enjoy two types of blooms a year! The Coloneaster Apiculata produces white flowers in the spring, and berries in the fall and winter.
While these shrubs do require some maintenance, they are very tough and can adapt to almost any soil type. Growing zones 5-8 are most suitable for the Cotoneaster Apiculata. They can grow to be 2 feet tall and up to 5 feet wide!
The Cotoneaster Apiculata is an excellent choice for ground cover, especially on a slope. Place a few in a row for a border or add character to a raised flowerbed. It prefers full sun exposure or even partial shade.
Because of the small foliage, spread mulch around your Cotoneaster Apiculata. This way weeds won’t grow through the center of the shrub!
