The D'Anjou Pear Tree is highly productive but only matures to a height of 6-10 feet. These trees have been specially bred to mature at a lower height, so you can pick a bounty of pears from your very own tree. Plant this tree in a large container if space is at a premium.
It thrives in zones 5-8 and is quite cold hardy, but also drought tolerant. This is a very hardy pear tree! Each year in springtime, the white blossoms perfume the air. The delicious fruit ripens September. These trees can be pollinated by thee Bartlett Pear, or any other pear tree.
D'Anjou Pears are larger than regular pears. Their flesh is firm, white, and juicy, with a buttery texture. The skin on the pear is green with a yellow blush - and are they loaded with flavor! They are especially good eaten fresh. You can also use them for juice, sauce, jams and jellies and even drying.
