Green Vinca

Vinca Minor is better known as Common Periwinkle or Creeping Myrtle and is one of the best choices for ground cover available.

Technically a vine, Periwinkle is capable of thriving in direct sunlight through full shade.

Though it prefers moist soil, it can flourish in many environments if given the proper moisture.

Once established, Periwinkle can survive exceptional drought conditions.

Rarely growing taller than 12 inches, this vine grows flat and wide, its dark green leaves spreading out to create a bed for various colored blooms.

With a long blooming season – mid spring to mid fall – Periwinkle will bloom light purple flowers.

Common Periwinkle is widely used as an aid in stabilizing soils and helping prevent erosion.
