Happy Returns Daylily
So Many Happy Returns, the Blooms Just Don't Stop!
A real glimmer of sunshine in your garden, patio or landscaping, the Happy Returns Daylily brightens up its surroundings no matter where it's placed. It's commonly used on walks as an edger or even planted in a container on the patio in addition to the garden. A mildly fragrant flower, you'll enjoy the blooms in the summer and the foliage year-round.
Small but Mighty
Not only is it beautiful, the Happy Returns Daylily is quite hardy as well. A very easy plant to grow, it flourishes in all soil types, but does exceptionally well in a fertilized loam. They are extremely adaptable to all climates, including extreme heat and humidity. Keeping the foliage attractive, however, requires a deep watering in sweltering temperatures. The good news is you'll hardly ever have to break out the pesticides as they are resistant to most pests and diseases.
The bright yellow flowers on the Happy Returns Daylily are enhanced by its dark green grass-like foliage. They begin blooming in early June and open for one day only. Daily maintenance is required to keep it looking neat by deadheading spent flowers. The blooms will continue daily until the frost hits, so you'll enjoy a bright burst of sunshine several months out of the year.
Loved by All
Happy Returns Daylily plants are excellent at attracting butterflies who drink its nectar. They are also beautiful when cut for tablescapes, vases or bouquets. They can be planted virtually anywhere in the yard including in foundation beds, shrub beds for a pop of color and even at the base of a bird bath for an elegant touch.
