Henryi Clematis

Henryi Clematis is known for its large blooms and its ability to bloom all summer long.

Henryi works great as a accent plant, planted in groups near a fence or trained on a trellis. Either way Henryi Clematis is a no-fuss plant that requires little maintenance.

Growing to a height of 12 feet, this vine should have its roots in the shade while the upper reaches will thrive well in direct sunlight. To accomplish this, put 3-4 inches of mulch around the vine. This will keep the roots cool in the heat of the summer.

Avoid planting the Henryi in heavy clay soils and make sure that you use well-drained, medium wet soil to maintain the vine’s health.

Pruning is not necessary, but if you must, wait until flowering is complete and only prune dead branches.
