Voluptuous, Rosy Blooms of Great Beauty!

Huge, Fully Double Blooms up to 3 Inches Across!
Nothing is Easier to Grow – Even in Those Difficult Shady Spots
Enjoy Colorful Blooms from Late Winter All the Way Through Spring!

Shades of Rosy Pink on Blooms Big, Double and Beautiful!
Breeder Hans Hansen has worked for years to perfect his Wedding Party™ Series of double Lenten Roses, selecting for vigorous plants, numerous blooms per plant and rich flower colors. Maid of Honor has all these great traits, plus the tough-as-nails constitution that comes with being a Helleborus – and some of the most gorgeous blooms you’ve ever seen! They are extremely large – as much as 3 inches across! – and are voluptuously double, a relatively new form for Lenten Roses. The blooms open to shades of rich rosy pink, some lighter, some darker, but all beautiful!

Blooms up to 4 months – in Winter!
You’ll enjoy these spectacular blooms over a long period beginning in late winter and earliest spring, when everything else in the garden is sleeping. You’ll even see them peeking through a late snow, brightening your day and telling you that spring is right around the corner. They stay colorful throughout spring, only fading when the weather warms up for summer. Lovely combined with spring bloomers like Daffodils and Forsythia. As an added bonus, the evergreen foliage, rich green and resembling small palm leaves, springs up after the flowers are finally done, adding interest to your garden when blooming season is long over.

Top Shade Perennial -  Hardy, Easy to Grow, and Deer-Resistant, too!
These tough plants will live up to 50 years of more, and nothing is easier to grow! They thrive in most any soil, even heavy clay; they laugh at heat, drought and cold; and, they are untroubled by pests or disease. Growing into neat clumps 18” tall and 2-3 feet across, they slowly spread to make a wonderful ground cover for those difficult shady spots under trees. This Lenten Rose also makes a delightful focal point in the shady perennial bed when they bloom in the winter to early spring. And you don’t need to worry about finding your plants decimated by critters – deer and rabbits don’t bother them.

    Growing Tips:
Though Lenten Roses (Helleborus) grow equally well in the North or the South, they do require dappled to full shade. They tolerate drought quite well and will grow in most any soil type, from sandy soil to heavy clay. Of course, as with most perennials, they will grow most lushly if given a rich soil with plenty of organic matter for good drainage. Since this is a long-lived plant, it takes a year or two to become fully established, but will reward your patience with years of enjoyment.
