Niobe Clematis

Like other vines in the Clematis family, the Niobe Clematis is a great accent plant for gardens, landscapes, patios and homes as it entwines itself around plants and structures alike.

It is the bright red blooms that explode into life throughout the summer that helps this vine stand out from the crowd.

Contrasting with the dark green leaves that wind their way along the vine, the 6-8 inch blooms are impossible to miss and last from June until September.

The Niobe Clematis does share most other traits with other Clematis vines. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil. What little pruning that is needed should wait until the vine is firmly set.

The vine should be planted with its roots in a cool shady place, but set so that the top of the 10-foot vine will reach into the sunlight.
