The original purple Heuchera, Palace Purple Coral Bells is the home of high contrast foliage. 

Presumably the most popular and widely plated variety.  This selection won the "1991 Perennial Plant Association Plant of the Year" and it isn't hard to see why.
 
Large glossy leaves of this perennial run the spectrum of color from mossy green, to reddish bronze, to midnight purple.  Highly visible undersides of all leaves are also a rich purple. 

This shade perennials bloom in a  profusion of tiny white and pink flowers in spring.
 
Heucheras are an excellent ground cover, and make quite the statement in mass plantings of 5 or more. 

A standout around the edge of perennial borders and woodland edges. 

Try pairing Palace Purple up with an ornamental grass such as Carex Evergold or Acorus Ogon grass for a diverse display of color and form.
