Red Astilbe

Vibrant, upright and feathery blooms in deep red are a standout against bronze green, finely cut foliage.  

The compact Red Astilbe is easy to grow and a quick reproducer.  
 
This is a low maintenance, hardy perennial.  

The Red Astilbe is also extremely tolerant of periods of drought, heat and cold...this is one tough plant!
 
The Astilbe is quickly gaining in popularity as gardeners learn about all they have to offer... it is an attractive anchor of the shade and woodland gardens.  

Try pairing them with Hostas and Ferns for a dramatic contrast of color and form.
 
Astilbes also work well in mass plantings of 5 or more where they do not have to compete with tree or shrub roots.  
 
These make excellent cut flowers and the long lasting blooms add a breathtaking accent to any fresh flower arrangement.
