Red Spider Lily (Lycoris)

In the south, these are called Hurricane Lilies, blooming at the height of the southern storm season.

Each of the plant’s five to seven frilly, bright red blossoms have extra long anthers, creating a spidery appearance that belies how tough they really are.

And so easy to grow, just plant the bulb almost anywhere in the garden and it will come back year after year.
