Annabelle Hydrangea Planting Directions
Huge 10-inch White Flowers Signal Summers Arrival

An extraordinary white flowering deciduous shrub that can be pruned heavily and endure severe winter temperatures.

With no care this hydrangea blooms profusely every year.

Annabelle may sound delicate by name, but this hydrangea is a real performer.

It's so tough, it thrives from south Florida and California all the way to Minnesota.

In the south, plant where Annabelle gets a little afternoon shade. In the north Annabelle may be planted in full sun.

A compact, fast-growing shrub, Annabelle Hydrangea works well mixed with other colors of hydrangea.

Plant it along your front walk or against an east-facing foundation. The 10-inch diameter blossoms are thrilling in your garden and in cut bouquets.

Annabelle Hydrangea blooms from midsummer through first frost.

Although not necessary, pruning back 2 to 3 feet in winter will keep the heads of these heavy flowers from drooping too much.

Marsha Harris
Our Annabelle Hydrangea had huge blooms on them when we received the order. Since then, we have pruned the limbs back and will have to wait until next year to see how they will do. They do show small leaves coming out since the pruning and we are hoping for great results next year.

Arlene of VA
My Annabelle hydrangea is pruned to 18 to 24 inches from the ground in late February/early March here in zone 7 of Virginia and it is a reliable performer with huge white blooms that can be noticed from afar. It begins blooming with a light green color, then white, then back to light green before it fades to a light brown shade for the winter landscape. It also looks good as a a dried flower arrangement. Just put the flower stems in a vase with 1 or 2 inches of water and let it dry slowly. Enjoy!
