Our Annabelle Hydrangea had huge blooms on them when we received the order. Since then, we have pruned the limbs back and will have to wait until next year to see how they will do. They do show small leaves coming out since the pruning and we are hoping for great results next year.

My Annabelle hydrangea is pruned to 18 to 24 inches from the ground in late February/early March here in zone 7 of Virginia and it is a reliable performer with huge white blooms that can be noticed from afar. It begins blooming with a light green color, then white, then back to light green before it fades to a light brown shade for the winter landscape. It also looks good as a a dried flower arrangement. Just put the flower stems in a vase with 1 or 2 inches of water and let it dry slowly. Enjoy!
