Dwarf Granny Smith Apple Trees
Versatile Apple is good for Baking or Snacking. Our Granny Smith Apple Trees are well pruned, providing plenty
of branching, so they will yield a bigger crop of delicious fruit.
This pruning process is time consuming for us. You will find that it is worth the effort, since you may start picking apples as soon as the first year, under optimal conditions. This small sized tree is fast growing and produces plenty of good sized fruit. You will be able to harvest enough apples for both your family and friends.
Granny Smith Apples are easily recognizable by their shiny, bright, green skin and firm texture. The trees produce white flowers in April. The crisp, juicy, tart apples ripen in late October through early November. Our trees are sturdy, disease and pest resistant, well rooted, and easy to grow. They do best when paired with a pollinator. We suggest the Fuji, Gala, or Yellow Delicious for excellent pollination.
Granny Smith apples are wonderful eaten raw in salads, since they do not brown as quickly as other apple varieties. Children love to eat them right out of their hand. Since they hold their flavor so well when cooked, Granny Smith apples are perfect for pie baking, apple sauce, and many other desserts. These apples store very well, so you can keep them on hand for healthy snacking and baking.
