Green Privet

The common Green Privet, also known as Ligustrum ovalifolium, is an extremely fast growing shrub that will create a dense hedge, making it an excellent choice for border planting and as a landscaping element used to create paths and walkways.

With its dense, smooth-textured green leaves, this Privet blooms in mid-July, producing creamy white flowers.

Depending on how you use the Privet, the amount of pruning necessary will range from minor to moderate. Trimmings should be done in the summer, when the plant is most active.

Growing as tall as 12 feet and as wide as 10 feet, the Green Privet can also double as a privacy hedge. This semi-evergreen plant will stand up to mild and moderate winters, making it a great choice for much of the country.
