Clematis 'Jackmanii' |
Reaching a height of up to 12 feet, the green-leafed vine’s real appeal is the dark purple flowers that bloom all along its body.
The Jackmanii Clematis will grow steadily and can be trained to climb walls, fences, lamp posts, lattices and many other structures.
The blooms reach their peak in July, although buds will begin to develop in the spring. The sturdy flowers can last well into the fall, offering accents to buildings and other plants.
Just remember to keep the Jackmanii's roots in the shade or pile on 3-4 inches of mulch to keep the cool through the summer months.
