Nutritious & Simple to Grow
Take a bite and get a burst of sweet, juicy & almost fruity flavor.
Orange Bell Sweet Peppers are great to snack on, or better in salads, dips, stir fry meals, salsas, and even stuffed. This pepper is not spicy hot (no capsaicin) nor is it like the bitter green variety grandmother grew and is typically available at the grocery store.
And…they are simple to grow! Just make sure they get lots of sun, water and warm soil and air. They dislike the cold.
Unbelievably, sweet peppers have twice more vitamin C than an orange! They also contain high levels of vitamin A along with B6, fiber, vitamin E and K; potassium and tryptophan. This essential amino acid tryptophan is known for elevating mood, peaceful sleep and regulating appetite.
Along with great flavor, nutrient value and simple to grow…it is a very low calorie vegetable…only 24 calories per serving! What more could you want?
Sweet peppers can be harvested at any time. For optimum flavor, wait to pick until they have firm flesh and break easily from the plant. They can be kept a week or two in a vegetable compartment in the refrigerator or they can be frozen.
Watch out for hot dry winds or dry soil. This can prevent fruit set and growth.
