Landscape Designers' Weapon of Choice
Does your planting bed or foundation need something but you don't know what?
Usually a little vertical height will tie everything together, particularly where a lot of low bedding flowers and plants are used.
Sky Pencil Japanese Holly adds this height without taking up a lot of space. Plus you can easily keep it at any size you want.
To accent a flower bed, keep it at about 3-4 feet tall.
To frame an elegant entryway, let them reach 6 feet or more. They do great in containers or the ground.
Sky Pencil is evergreen, so you get color during the winter to brighten up an otherwise brown landscape.
Left alone, they grow up to 10 feet tall and still maintain a slender, columnar shape.
The Sky Pencil Holly is low maintenance and just does what it's supposed to, without problems. Water regularly in its first year to establish a healthy root system...and that’s it!
Sky Pencil Japanese Hollies are a popular plant and they are in short supply, order yours today.

Sky Pencil Japanese Holly-- I have planted these close to my paver patio. Everyone that sees them has a lot of good comments to make about them. They're bright, cheery, and are beautiful at night with solar, spot lights on them. They are just so differant from anything that I've seen out there. I'm hoping they add a little privacy as they mature.

Sky Pencil Holly-My wife and I planted two of these flanking our front step. Although they are beautiful now, we are looking forward to watching them get taller and fuller.

I planted three Sky Pencil Holly plants along the border of my property and they create a perfect natural fence. They have only been in the ground since Spring, but so far they are growing nicely.

I planted 15 7=gallon Sky Pencil hollies in June 2009 in a staggered linear design with full est sun exposure. Zone 8b. I watered regularly (about 5 months until winter set in. They have all done beautifully. Interestingly, about 5 of the 15 Sky Pencils were somewhat scraggly, but I bought them anyway because I needed the quantity and Lowes could not get any more of these particular hollies. I'm happy to report that the 5 scraggly plants filled out and all 15 pencils look the same. If you cultivate carefully and properly (composted acidic soil with reasonably good drainage, water regularly for the first season of growth, you will be rewarded with a uniform column of neat & tidy evergreen growth that will make an interesting vertical statement in your landscape design. They grow up to about 10 feet and quit. Great to shield o blank side of house/fence. Great as a backdrop.
