From one surviving little cutting way back in 1903, the Parent Washington became the orange tree that made Riverside, California a famous place. It was named in honor of our first American president. The Parent Washington Navel Orange produces ripe, naturally sweet fruit early. You’ll be harvesting a bumper crop of organic oranges in November or December, depending on your location. Navel oranges are a low maintenance citrus tree that will adapt to a wide range of soil conditions. Plus the Parent Washington navel even tolerates a light frost, expanding the area that oranges would normally be thought cold hardy. Do be sure not to let the soil dry out completely for best growth and vigor.
