Product Description

No-Fuss Flowers & Vivid Yellow Charm

This gold-yellow perennial is just about everything you’ve ever wanted out of a flowering plant! The Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan is 1999’s Perennial Plant of the Year and is still one of North America’s favorites to this day. It’s a vibrant-yellow addition to any landscape or patio without all the fuss of other perennials.

The Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan is a lovely, low-maintenance option for many garden styles and spaces, from borders and mixed plantings to containers and cut flower arrangements. It's especially suited to rustic, cottage, or Mediterranean garden styles.

Blooming in mid- to late summer, the Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan provides much-needed color for your space after other flowers have faded. And its cheery blooms shine brightly against oval-shaped foliage that's covered in textured hairs that deter pests like deer and rabbits. Plus, the Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan tolerates heat, humidity, and clay soils with ease, making it incredibly low-maintenance.

In the summer, the Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan’s blooms attract butterflies and other pollinators. And, in the winter, it continues to improve your space, even after the blooms have disappeared. The seed heads left behind by the flowers provide food for songbirds during the winter.

Get your very own hardy, everblooming perennial and breathe sunny yellow charm into your gardening space. Grow your own Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan today!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Goldsturm Black-Eyed Susan in an area that receives full to partial sun (4-6 hours of sunlight per day). Simply dig a whole wider and the same depth as the container your plant arrives in. Remove the plant from the container and loosen the roots using your fingers. Then place the plant in the hole and backfill the dirt, being careful not to compact the soil.

2. Watering: Water your plant immediately after planting and water regularly until established. Once the plant is established, water occasionally or more as needed in extreme heat or containers.

3. Pruning: Deadheading your plants encourages better blooming and color throughout the season.
