Blue Lobelia

The Great Blue Lobelia is a fan favorite, producing tall spikes of deep blue flowers in the summer and boasting rich, dark green foliage that is thick and often branching.
 
This is a very showy plant that is easy on the eyes and easy to grow.  As a summer bloomer, the Blue Lobelia puts on an encore performance when other flowers are taking a bow.
 
For lots of oohs and ahhs, try mass plantings in your garden. As groupings of 5 or more, these plants are spectacular. 

The Blue Lobelias are also at home around a water feature as these plants are water lovers!  They are sure to add a splash of color to any area of your garden. 
 
This is the blue counterpart of the Cardinal Flower or Red Lobelia, and its blooms are larger than other Lobelias.
 
The Blue Lobelia attracts many flyers, but expect hummingbirds and butterflies to pay a visit as well... these flowers are a must-see!
