The Cinnamon Fern has large, graceful fronds of blue-green foliage growing up to 4 ft long.
It takes its name from new growth that looks like cinnamon sticks rising from the ground.
Light green spores appear in spring and turn yellow in the fall. This fern is similar to the Ostrich Fern but is not quite so rampant, growing at a slower rate.
The Cinnamon Fern can perform a number of landscape jobs, just put it to work for you.
Excellent for filling in foreground or in containers. Employ as a backdrop in more spacious gardens.
The Cinnamon Fern is a terrific choice for water gardens or along streams...add distinction to the edges of cultivated landscapes, shaded borders, or woodland settings. It's also a great combination plant adding color and texture to any landscape or garden area.
Try pairing the Cinnamon Fern with
Hostas, such as the
Patriot, or other large and in charge perennials.
