Emerald Pink Creeping Phlox
Easy to Grow, Colorful Ground Cover
The Emerald Pink Creeping Phlox creates a fast-growing dense carpet of vibrant pink blooms atop a glossy evergreen mat. Perfect for rock walls, slopes and banks, walkway borders, and as accent plants.
Emerald Pink phlox grows well in climate zones 3 to 8, and prefers to be planted in well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade, though this perennial is tolerant of most soil types. It blooms brilliantly in mid to late spring.
This phlox is a ground cover that reaches heights of only 6 inches or less but spreads to 18 inches or more. Hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees love the heavy blooms. It is also deer-resistant.
Snip dead stems and flowers from the mound to keep it airy, and cut back groundcover once the blooms have faded for a possible autumn re-bloom.
Though the Emerald Pink Creeping Phlox does best in well draining soils, and is moderately drought tolerant, be sure to water it regularly for the first season so the roots become deep and well established allowing you to enjoy years of bright and cheerful blooms.
