Product Description

Twisty Green Foliage with Delicate Golden Branches

The 'Golden Curls' Corkscrew Willow Tree differs from its cousin, the Corkscrew, in one big, beautiful way. Along with its rolling emerald leaves, this variety offers elegant golden branches that keep their vibrancy in the winter. Because it's hardy down to -30°F, the stunning 'Golden Curls' Willow will bring strength and vigor to any landscape.

An ideal centerpiece for cottage, enchanted, or woodland garden styles, the 'Golden Curls' Corkscrew Willow adds drama and magic to its surroundings. The flexible willow branches can also be used for basket weaving, and the bark will remain yellow all year to provide your garden with winter interest.

Why Gardeners Choose the 'Golden Curls' Corkscrew Willow

This willow is considerably low maintenance, highly adaptable, drought resistant, and easy-to-grow in most soil types. Once established, this golden willow will require minimal care. That means you can enjoy the enchanting appeal of this tree with only a bit of effort.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Before planting, choose a location with full sun to partial shade (4 to 8 hours of sun per day) and well-drained soil. When it’s time to plant, start by digging a hole that’s at least twice the width of your tree’s root ball. After placing your tree in its hole, back fill the soil, tamp down to ensure air pockets are eliminated, and water to establish the root system.

2. Watering: Water your new willow regularly and deeply during its first growing season to help establishment, approximately once weekly. If you’re not sure when to water and how much watering your tree needs, simply check the soil. If the soil is dry down to around 2 or 3 inches, it’s time to water.

3. Fertilizing:
If you want to bolster your willow’s growth, apply slow-release, well-balanced fertilizer before new growth begins in the spring.

4. Pruning:
Pruning isn’t required, but if you’d like to shape your Golden Curls’ weeping habit, simply do so a few times a year, or however often is necessary to shape.
