Scrumptious, Low-Effort Blueberries That Ripen Early

If you’ve always wanted your own fruit garden, the Sharpblue Blueberry plant is the perfect addition! This early-ripening variety gives you delicious fruit earlier in the season, and it’s both low-maintenance, heat-resistant, and cold-hardy.

Grow your own blueberries without much effort! This plant is easy to grow, and it’s specially bred to handle milder climates (while remaining cold-hardy). You also don’t need other blueberry bushes since it’s self-pollinating, unless you’d like your own grove.

Early ripening means you enjoy fresh fruit for longer! Revel in these tasty, robust berries that are medium in size and large in flavor. Add a dash of antioxidants and vitamins to your snacks with these blueberries, perfect for any recipe or treat.

Add the Sharpblue Blueberry plant to your garden, container, or patio. Order before we sell out!

    Planting & Care

    1. Planting: Prepare the ground well before planting, and plant in an area where it can receive either partial sunlight or full sunlight. Sharpblue Blueberries do best in a slightly acidic soil environment, though they can tolerate sandier soils than most other blueberry varieties.

In alkaline soil, add ammonium sulfate for best results. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2 inches below the soil surface. When planting, add generous amounts of peat but no fertilizer. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly. Blueberries can also be grown in large pots and containers if compost is used. In spring, feed with sulphate of ammonia, sulphate of potash, bone meal and top-dress with compost.

    2. Watering: These bushes have moderate watering needs and should be watered at least once a week, more often during periods of extreme heat.

    3. Fertilizing: Acidic fertilizers are the best for Sharpblue Blueberries. Choose a fertilizer marketed for azaleas as they have the same acidity needs.

    4. Pruning: Prune in winter, cutting out dead or damaged branches. Prune branches back by about 1/2 of their length around planting time. Pruning typically is only needed every three years.

    5. Pollination: The Sharpblue Blueberry Bush is self-fertile; however, it is more productive when planted near other blueberry plants.
