A Delectable Fruit Tree for Your Own Backyard!
If you’re looking for a fruit tree with a sweet but unique flavor, the Flavor King Pluot is for you! This tree’s fruit is a combination of apricots and plums, an enjoyable treat for everyone. With its lovely Japanese plum-like leaves, this tree will liven up your yard or garden year round.
Like many fruit trees, this one thrives best in southern climates. Be sure to plant it in an area where it can receive full sun and well-draining soil. Once established, this tree is low-maintenance and easy-growing.
This moderately-sized tree grows to just twelve to twenty feet tall at maturity, making it perfect for any space in your front or backyard. Further pruning will even keep smaller to suit your size needs.
The Flavor King's fruit will ripen in August, and last for a few weeks on the tree. It’s a healthy treat you’ll be sure to savor, and it’s easily pollinated by other Plum or Pluot trees.
Want to try this sweet yet adventurous fruit for yourself? Buy it today and fill your home with good looks and fresh fruit for years to come!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant your Toka Plum in well-draining soil and in full to partial sun. Dig a hole that is twice as wide but just as deep as the root ball. Place your tree, backfill your soil and water to settle the roots. Mulch the surrounding soil to conserve moisture.
2. Watering: Water the planted tree well during its first two years with deep regular watering, but be sure not to create soggy soil. Once established, the tree will need less watering. It will still require deep watering during low-rainfall periods.
3. Fertilizing: Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer during spring and fall. Give the tree a layer of mulch in order to prevent weeds and conserve moisture.
4. Pruning: This moderately spreading tree can be pruned to reduce size.
5. Pollination: The Flavor King Pluot requires pollinators such as Dapple Dandy, Santa Rosa Plum, Methley Plum, Burgundy Plum, or Late Santa Rosa Plum trees.
