Everbearing Mulberry Tree Morus nigra
Product Description
Classic Mulberry with Abundant Berries!
Here we go 'round the Mulberry Tree! You'll love having the nostalgic Everbearing Mulberry Tree right in your own backyard. This tree produces delicious mulberries that rival even the juiciest blackberries in flavor.
Unlike most fruit trees that ripen their crop all at once, these mulberries ripen over an extended period of time. This ensures that your Everbearing Mulberries are each ripened to perfection and provide exceptional flavor throughout the whole crop.
When planted in full sun, this low-maintenance, drought-resistant, hardy tree will begin to show a beautiful display of blooms in May, quickly followed by the first fruits. You'll get an abundant harvest of sweet berries from June until August, even in the first year! Enjoy your mulberries fresh in the summer or savor them year-round by making jams, jellies, and other treats with preserved berries.
In addition to its abundant production of sweet fruit, the Everbearing Mulberry functions nicely as an elegant ornamental shade tree. Reaching heights up to 15 feet and widths of 10 feet, the Everbearing Mulberry makes a statement in any landscape and provides ample shade to cool the space it occupies. Its large, heart-shaped leaves and orange to gray-brown bark provide year-round interest even when it's not fruiting.
A delicious, fruit-bearing, classically beautiful, ornamental shade tree, the Everbearing Mulberry Tree is the total package. If you're ready to reap all the benefits that the Everbearing Mulberry has to offer, don’t wait - grab yours today!
Planting & Care
1. Planting: Choose a location where your tree will receive full or partial sunlight and the soil drains well.
Dig a hole that is three times as wide as the root ball and equal in depth. Remove your tree from its container and place it into the hole, ensuring it is standing upright and the top of the root ball is even with the ground. Begin backfilling the hole with existing soil, tamping down lightly as you fill. Immediately water the area to settle the soil and help to eliminate air pockets.
Mulch around the base of the tree to conserve soil moisture and prevent weeds/grass from growing.
2. Watering: Water your tree weekly while it's establishing. Once established, your normal rainfall will be enough unless you're experiencing extreme drought or heat.
3. Fertilizing: Apply any type of organic fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer in spring.
4. Pruning: Very little pruning is needed to maintain your tree. Any dead or broken branches can be pruned in spring.
