Product Description

Lively, Tropical Grass for Seasons of Interest

Adding a tropical and vibrant plant like the Savannah Ruby Grass to your space will inject some life into your garden! This perennial grass is a native to Southern Africa, flaunting a small size that makes it perfect for garden beds, borders, containers and even cut flower arrangements!

If you’re looking for a plant that has multiple colors in one, the Savannah Ruby Grass is for you! Delicate, silver-green foliage changes to purple-red in the fall, and its fluffy pink flower panicles turn to light cream, then tan. It’s a rainbow of colors from its slender, wiry leaves to its soft, fuzzy flowers!

Plus, insects and diseases won’t be a problem with this plant, making it ultra easy to care for. Thriving mostly in Zones 8-10, this variety can also be grown as an annual in many cooler climates - just place it somewhere it can receive full sun.

For long-lasting, textured flowers, color-changing foliage, planting versatility and hardiness, choose the Savannah Ruby Grass! Its lively, tropical growth will reward you season after season. Order your very own Ruby Grass today!

Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant in an area with full to partial sun (4-8 hours of sunlight per day). Select a location with well-drained soil and dig a hole that's large enough to accommodate your grass's root ball.

After you've planted, mulch the surrounding area and water to settle the roots.

2. Watering: Water weekly, or more often in extreme heat or drought. If you plant your grass in containers, you'll also want to water more frequently. Check the soil and water when soil is dry to the touch two inches down.

3. Pruning: Prune your grass all the way back in late winter or early spring to allow room and energy for new growth.
