Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose an area with full to partial sun for your Variegated Tapioca Plant. Well-drained, evenly moist soil is also important for your plant to thrive. However, it thrives in most soil types, especially with some mulching.

To plant your Tapioca (container or in-ground), dig a hole that’s deep enough to cover the plant’s root ball – it should also be about one and a half times the root ball’s width. After placing your plant, tamp down the soil while backfilling to avoid air pocket. Then, water your plant to settle the soil that surrounds the roots. If you plant in a container, simply ensure it has drainage holes.

2. Watering: Water your Tapioca deeply and regularly during the first full growing season for best results. If you’re not sure when to water your plant, check the top 2 to 3 inches of its surrounding soil – if it’s dry, it’s time to water. We recommend watering about once or twice weekly for best results.

3. Pruning: Remove any dead foliage to keep the plant growing well.
