Fluttering Plumes Add Movement to Your Landscape
Looking for an ornamental grass that will add texture, movement and height to your landscape? You're in the right place!
Pampas Grass creates a standout impression, with dramatic height and white plumes that billow in the wind. Supporting the plumes are hearty green stalks and weeping grass blades that provide an attention-grabbing contrast.
Growing up to 10 feet tall and wide, many gardeners use this ornamental grass to create a border or barrier, or as a focal point in their landscaping. And this popular ornamental is a beautiful addition to flower arrangements and other indoor decor, too.
Pampas Grass is remarkably adaptable. It thrives outdoors in zones 7 through 10, though it can also be planted in containers or used as an annual in cooler climates. It's tolerant of salt, poor soil conditions and even drought, making it a great choice for coastal and other hard-to-plant areas.
The best part? This gorgeous ornamental grass is one of the lowest-maintenance plants you'll find. All it needs to thrive is full to partial sun and well-draining soil. In fact, this fast-growing grass will spread quickly, so be sure to cut it back as needed.
Wherever it's planted, Pampas Grass will deliver elegant texture, dimension and movement to your landscape. Don't miss out - get your Pampas Grass today!
Note: If you purchase this grass in fall-winter, it may be cut back for the plant’s health. If your grass is cut back, don’t worry - it will grow even happier and healthier next spring!
Planting & Care
Planting: When planting your Pampas Grass, choose a location with full to partial sun (Pampas Grass will grow best in full sun), with plenty of room for your grass to grow. Pampas Grass can tolerate a variety of soil, as long as the soil is well drained.
Watering: Water newly planted Pampas Grass deeply once or twice a week to help it establish. After establishment (about 3 months or so), Pampas Grass is drought tolerant and will typically be able to thrive on rainfall alone. Water more frequently in extreme heat, especially during the first summer.
Fertilizing: Although you don't need to fertilize this fast-growing grass, you can fertilize with a slow release, balanced fertilizer in spring.
Pruning: Prune Pampas Grass to the ground in late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges.
